Limited Edition Benny Gold 1937 Fort Knocks!
The Golden Gate Bridge rejects the classic grey color used most-often on bridges, and is instead painted “International Orange” (some call the color “orange vermillion”). Before the span was constructed, consulting architect Irving Morrow selected the distinctive orange color “because it blends well with the span’s natural setting as it is a warm color consistent with the warm colors of the land masses in the setting.” Which is just a lengthy way to say, “that orange just looks good.”
Knockaround is excited to have teamed up with legendary design studio and brand, Benny Gold, to create a set of limited edition sunglasses that commemorates the 75th birthday of San Francisco’s most iconic landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge. Each pair features a frosted “International Orange” finish and polarized “Bay Water Blue” lenses. The front of the frames feature an orange to clear gradient, and “Benny Gold” is printed on the inside of the right arm.
400 pairs were made: 200 are available on Knockaround.com, and 200 will be available at the Benny Gold store, and online shop.
