The space where you run your business inevitably shapes every product, project, and decision.
I started Knockaround in 2005 in my 150 square foot art studio– on the campus of UC-San Diego in La Jolla, California. From there, the company moved into my 200 square foot garage in sprawling suburban San Diego. From there, a 1400 square foot warehouse in National City, California that I shared with two good friends. About two years ago we moved operations into a 2200 square foot warehouse, also in National City. But now, once again, we’re bursting at the seams.
So this week we’re moving into a new 12,000 square foot warehouse in downtown San Diego. The building we’re moving into was built in the 1920’s. It’s about 6 blocks from the ballpark, and there’s an 8 foot bomb-proof safe right outside of my office (for real). We’ll give you a tour once we’re all moved in.
In the meantime, check out these photos that we grabbed this week while we were packing up. -Ace
