MAY KNOCKMIX

Our May Knockmix is out, and at Knockaround HQ, we’re jamming out while prepping for this month’s special projects (do Mitch Buchannon and CJ Parker ring a bell, anyone?).

So, stay tuned and for now: grab your friends (and your tunes), hit the beach, and turn up for the May Knockmix.

KEEGAN DUNFORD / CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER

Portugal. The Man with "Feel it Still"

Just got back from Oahu. This instantly became THE song of the trip. Whether we were hiking through Jurassic Park, kayaking the bay, or hosting the wedding after party, this tune was constantly on repeat. It just felt right. Thank you, Portugal.

ACE MOYER / FOUNDER & CEO

Roger Voudouris with "Get Used To It"

Just ask everyone that sits near me at Knockaround HQ—they really got used to this song. I played it every morning at 9am for about three weeks straight. This video is dope, too. Red deep-v sweater. Gold chain. Using the microphone to play the air drums. Check, check, check.

EDDIE MARTINEZ / WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST

Cailin Russo with "September Rose"

I picked this song because it's by my friend's sister, Cailin Russo. Seeing Cailin develop her craft and become an amazing singer is inspiring. This song produces some cool chill vibes—a great listen.

WES GATES / IT PROJECT MANAGER

Frank Ocean with "Pyramids"

One of my favorite artists of all time with one of my favorite songs of all time. An added bonus, in this live version of Pyramids on SNL, is John Mayer, inexplicably playing a guitar solo after Frank’s song.

TONY MARTINEZ / MARKETING MANAGER

The Isley Brothers with "This Old Heart of Mine"

Oldie but goodie? Absolutely. This is my go-to track when I'm looking to turn my mood right side up—I'll sing it in the shower, bump it windows-down in any hood, give it a little two step (and spin) in the club. And if you're looking to add a little late-80's flair to it, give this version a whirl.

DONALD GOULD / LEAD DESIGNER

The Avalanches with "Because I'm Me"

This group mashes together old audio samples to create their songs. The entire album is filled with old movie references, odd one-off songs and all sorts of stuff. Plus Camp Lo does the vocals and who doesn't love Camp Lo?!

REGAN RUSSELL / PRODUCTION MANAGER

Fleetwood Mac with "Caroline"

Fleetwood Mac is a group I can (and tend to) put on no matter what mood I'm in. I love that they have music everyone knows while also producing a ton of deep cuts that are technical, experimental, and catchy. “Caroline” is a balance of all those things and needs to be heard by more people!

DREW LEWIS / SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER

Purity Ring with "Belispeak"

I love this band! Nice combination of emo electro-pop and slap yo’ mama beats. Who doesn't love’ Canadian Trap music?

MANNY CARBAJAL / WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST

Nick Drake with "Poor Boy"

This is a great song, and album for that matter, to put on in the background while reading a good book or having a drink. Nick Drake's smooth voice makes everything feel ok.

ALEXIS PACE / FINANCIAL ANALYST

Creed with "Arms Wide Open"

I do not believe there is a better song than this to kick off summer….JK! A select few will appreciate this pick, as it has been known to consume the airwaves in the back half of the office from time to time.
