Ozark Comes to a Close

How will it all end for the Byrde family? We'll find out on the fourth and final season of the hit Ozark. When season three ended financial-advisor-turned-money-launderer Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) had gotten in deep with a sociopathic drug lord and have mounting problems with the folks in their adoptive home by Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks. Plus, some trouble with the Kansas City Mafia. Netflix has been keeping the release date under wraps, but we do know that the final season will be split into two parts: most likely with the first half rolling out in mid or late-2021 and the second half in early 2022.

New Sexy Contestants on Too Hot To Handle

As lockdowns spread across the world last spring, viewers binged on the guilty pleasure of Too Hot To Handle. The premise is odd, making the reality show strangely intriguing. Take impossibly sexy contestants and stick them together on a dreamy tropical isle. Then forbid them from following their urges—no touching, kissing, or sex of any kind if you want to walk away with any of the $100,000 prize. Very few of last season's contestants were able to control their urges. We'll see how the next group of hot players fare when season two debuts in June.

Dead to Me One Last Time

Perhaps the most binge-friendly duo in the streaming world, Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are returning for the third and final season of Dead to Me. The dark comedy is one of Netflix's most popular shows, centering on polar opposite women who bond over mutual tragedy, leaving a series of crimes and deliciously bad deeds in their wake. This season we're promised a peek at some of Ben's (James Marsden) dark past. While there's no official release date, an end-of-summer debut seems likely.

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson

We only got six short episodes during the first season, with just about 100 minutes of comedy overall. But, I Think You Should Leave made a strong impression that left us wanting more of the off-the-wall sketch comedy series. Filming of the second season, which got delayed due to COVID, has wrapped but it looks like we're still a few months away from the sophomore debut.

The Kominsky Method’s Final Bow

Haven't heard of The Kominsky Method? You're not alone. The comedy starring Michael Douglas flew largely under the radar during its first two seasons. But it got serious attention on the awards circuit, including some Golden Globe wins and lots of Emmy nominations for both its freshman and sophomore seasons. The series stars Douglas as an acting coach coming to terms with old age, this season with added trouble from his ex-wife played by Kathleen Turner. The third and final season gets underway on May 28.

New Shows To Look Out For

The Upshaws Go for Laughs

Comedian Wanda Sykes (Black-ish) co-created and co-stars in The Upshaws, about a working-class blended family in Indiana negotiating life with exes, kids, and multi-generational family friction. Mike Epps (Survivor's Remorse, Next Friday) and Kim Fields (The Facts of Life) co-star in the new sitcom that debuts on May 12.

Midnight Mass Brings on the Darkness

A priest with a murky past arrives on a remote island where the local community is plagued by a series of supernatural events in the upcoming horror series with Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Hamish Linklater (Legion), Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica), and Henry Thomas (E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial). While there's no official release date for Midnight Mass, filming is complete and there's been speculation that we'll see it in August 2021.

Pieces of Her from Novel to the Small Screen

While Netflix hasn't told us when it will debut, we're expecting Pieces of Her to premiere in late 2021 or early 2022. Toni Collette (Oscar nominee for The Sixth Sense) stars in the adaptation of the best-selling novel about a woman whose life is irrevocably changed by a mass shooting. Bella Heathcote (The Man in the High Castle) and David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) co-star.

Clickbait’s Sinister Social Media

Drawing comparisons to Black Mirror (which itself is compared to The Twilight Zone), Clickbait looks at the dark side of social media with a heinous crime linked to online activity, told from eight different perspectives. The miniseries stars Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), Adrian Grenier (Entourage, The Devil Wears Prada), and Phoenix Rae (The Heights). As COVID-19 shut down production for about half of 2020, there's still no release date yet.
